چکیده

Purpose: An optimal once-daily radiotherapy (RT) regimen is under investigation for definitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in limited disease small cell lung cancer (LD-SCLC). We compared the efficacy and safety of dose escalation with intensity-modulated (IMRT).Materials Methods: Between January 2016 March 2021, patients treated CCRT LD-SCLC IMRT were retrospectively reviewed. Patients who received a total <50 Gy or those history thoracic RT surgery excluded. The divided into two groups (standard dose-escalated) based on biologically effective (BED, α/β = 10) 70 Gy. chemotherapeutic comprised four cycles etoposide cisplatin. Results: One hundred twenty-two analyzed median follow-up was 27.8 months (range, 4.4 to 76.9 months). age 63 years 35 78 years) majority had smoking (86.0%). 1- 3-year overall survival rates escalated group significantly higher than standard (93.5% 50.5% vs. 76.7% 33.3%, respectively; p 0.008), as freedom from in-field failure (91.4% 66.5% 73.8% 46.9%, 0.018). incidence grade 2 acute late pneumonitis not different between (p 0.062, 0.185). Conclusion: Dose-escalated led improved locoregional control survival, no increase toxicity.

Considerations on radiotherapy dose intensity for limited small cell lung cancer.

The factors of dose, volume, fractionation, and timing with chemotherapy undoubtedly influence outcomes in terms of treatment of limited small cell lung cancer with thoracic radiotherapy. The type and timing with chemotherapy may be very important. For integration of chemotherapy with radiation therapy, the measure of iso-effects, for tumor and acute tissue and late effects, may be hard to come...

Simultaneous integrated dose reduction intensity-modulated radiotherapy applied to an elective nodal area of limited-stage small-cell lung cancer

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy and toxicity of simultaneous integrated dose reduction intensity-modulated radiotherapy (SIR-IMRT) applied to an elective nodal area of patients with limited-stage small-cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). Between January 2010 and March 2013, 52 patients with LS-SCLC that was treated with SIR-IMRT were retrospectively analyzed. A radiation...

Feasibility of omitting clinical target volume for limited-disease small cell lung cancer treated with chemotherapy and intensity-modulated radiotherapy

PURPOSE To analyze the feasibility of omitting clinical target volume (CTV) for limited small cell lung cancer treated with chemotherapy and intensity modulated radiotherapy. METHODS AND MATERIALS 89 patients were treated from January 1, 2008 to August 31, 2011, 54 cases were irradiated with target volume without CTV, and 35 cases were irradiated with CTV. Both arms were irradiated post chemo...

High-Dose Involved Field Radiotherapy and Concurrent Chemotherapy for Limited-Disease Small Cell Lung Cancer

Purpose: We evaluated the effect of high dose involved field radiotherapy and concurrent chemotherapy for treating patients with limited disease, small cell lung cancer. Materials and Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 37 patients who had a limited stage of small cell lung cancer. All the patients were treated with induction chemotherapy followed by definitive radiotherapy and concurre...
